2009 GMC Acadia has its drive-train refinement, passenger room, and cargo room. The factory-installed cross rails aren’t too impressive, as its design isn’t really up to the mark. Moreover, it does not support the aftermarket parts as well. It can merely serve the purpose of snow board holder or a cargo box.
Problems with OEM 2009 GMC Acadia Cross Rails
The biggest issue with the OEM cross-rails provided in 2009 GMC Acadia is that it comes with very narrow mounting width. As a result, things need to be mounted at the center of the roof rack, making it cumbersome to load/unload them.
Far worse, the side rails don’t permit usage of aftermarket cross rails too. So, if you don’t require cross rails for a cargo box, then there’s no point in keeping them.
2009 GMC Acadia Cross Rails Replacement
Most of the stylish GMC Acadia Cross rails are available in black color. The extra set of 2 attachment kit comes with a price tag of about $125, but you can find used ones for $25-$50. Cross rails take extra space in car, and decrease the fuel efficiency if you tow heavy loads. But, they turn out to be really handy for carrying the extra loads during outstation picnic trips, or shifting luggage of your near and dear ones.
