The first crossover from GMC is Acadia and it is one of the rising families among the large crossover vehicles. The design part of Acadia is quite similar to that of Yukon, Yukon XL and full-size SUVs of GMC. It is available either as an all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive and can accommodate seven to eight passengers. The new 2011 GMC Acadia adds an upscale Denali trim level and competes with Honda Pilot, Mazda CX-9 as well as Toyota Highlander.

Exterior and Interior

Acadia will maintain its boxy styling treatment as with the earlier models and the new Denali trim level is grilled with a new honeycomb. The exterior features include 20/19 inch wheels, standard LED taillights, polished aluminum roof rails, and cast-aluminum wheels of 18-inch. Acadia also features wide rear door, a low step-in height, optional xenon headlamps as well as two-panel power sunroof with slide/tilt fixed front and rear.

The interior of Acadia features a 2-tone interior, standard cruise control and remote keyless entry. It is featured with optional leather seats, ultrasonic parking assist, rearview camera, navigation system as well as backseat entertainment system.

Mechanical Specs

The new 2011 GMC Acadia is equipped with a standard 3.6-L V6 engine, which produces 288hp and torque of about 270 pounds-feet. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. There is an option to utilize direct-injection technology for improving efficiency.

Safety Aspects

The available safety features for Acadia are side impact airbags, side curtain airbags, 4-disc antilock brakes, traction control and electronic stability system.
